EK 2s have been struggling to gather sufficient bodies in recent weeks, a frustrating situation for team manager, Bruce Beggans. Having been denied a fixture at the last minute last weekend, when Whitecraigs called off one hour before kick off, EK did not want to do the same to their opponents, GHK.
So they duly turned up with only 12 players, to face what seemed to be a rather strong GHK side with some 1st XV players returning from injury. The final score was about 83-0 for GHK.
A difficult task got even harder when EK suffered some injuries and were reduced to 10 men but the general view was that it was god to get a run out. So there is hope that we can field a full side next weekend when the 2s have a home game against Hillhead/Jordanhill. Kick off 3pm.
