As scheduled league opponents Hamilton 3XV failed to raise a team, WD 2XV were next to stand in the way of the EK 2XV juggernaut.
EK expected a tough match as it pitted the leaders of reserve pod C (WD) against leaders of pod D (EK). However, this was to be as one sided as any contest you could witness and, if it was boxing, WD would have been counted out well before the final whistle.
Tries rained in from throughout the EK side, David Rosie(Junior) bagging a hat trick, doubles from Gary Thornton, Eddie Beaton and Fraser Stott, while Glen Neilson and Ally Donalson also crossedScott Johnston converted 3 on a difficult day for kicking.
It was particularly pleasing to have shut out a side previously dominant this season, with EKs mean defence being highlighted with huge hits from Donaldson, Thornton and Beggans.
This result once again proves that EK 2XV are far better than the league they find themselves in this season.
