Coaching Team

As many will be aware, our current head coach, Craig Brown is stepping down after Saturday's home game against Dalziel. He has accepted an opportunity at his home club, West. The club would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to Craig and his team for the work over the last two seasons and the exciting Rugby that has been the hallmark of his tenure. Also Andy White is taking a break from coaching so will be a spectator this coming season. Thanks to Andy and we look forward to seeing you at the games. We wish both all the best for their futures both in rugby and in life.

We have witnessed some great games and results and I am sure the final at Murrayfield will remain long in the memory.

The committee have for several weeks been engaged in the process to identify a new head coach and we are delighted to announce that Franklin Clark has accepted our offer of the position of head coach next season. He will be ably assisted by various well know faces from EKRFC's recent player rosters and is in the process of finalising his coaching team and structure for next season.

Franklin or 'Frankie' had a distinguished playing career playing largely as a hooker for Cumnock, Kilmarnock, Clarkston and Irvine from National 7 up to Premiership 2 including several promotions with Clarkston, Kilmarnock and Irvine.

Having served an extensive coaching apprenticeship in a three year spell as assistant at Cambuslang where the club gained its first promotion in 5 years and Hillhead Jordanhill he accepted a position as assistant coach at Bishopton being promoted to head coach after two years where he guided the team to promotion and cup victory. During his 4 year tenure as head coach at Bishopton the club also gained greatly in player numbers with over 50 registered and the club able to field a second XV for the first time in its history.

Frankie is looking forward to working with the senior club coaching team, committee and academy sections to develop EKRFC within its core values and to produce a team that the town can be proud of.

Welcome to EKRFC Frankie.
